In the heart of Würzburg’s old town, a new hub for dining and tourism is set to open by July 2023, directly opposite the cathedral, as part of a redevelopment and new-build project. Covering around 18,500 square metres, the site will be home to a new branch of the L’Osteria restaurant chain, the Fürstlich Castell’sche Bank and the Wirtshaus am Dom, as well as a new Motel One. With 233 rooms, the hotel is a major project that requires perfect construction coordination and installation management, particularly due to the other building sites on the same site.

A welcoming atmosphere inside and out

As the spaces on Paradeplatz are primarily being used for the hotel and restaurants, a lively interaction is created between the building and the square, resulting in an attractive destination in a prominent neighbourhood. This, in turn, enhances the city’s appeal and improves the quality of life for the entire urban community.

So from July onwards, travellers and tourists will soon be able to stay in pleasant, modern surroundings on the site where a canon once resided in the Rödelsee Curia, which burned down in the 17th century.
